Adjustable ball joints work but they add height to the control arm. This takes up more of the limited clearance between the control arm and the inner fender. Lowered cars run with the upper control arm at an extreme angle causing the ball joints to run at a tight angle. This can cause premature wear to the joint and/or the boot.
