Hi there, please read the full discretion I hope you are well, thank you for looking at what my business can offer. We have been BMW specialist for over 17 years, and have been carrying out engine conversion for over 10 years. We now do this kind of work full time and make all kind of custom parts for all the builds we work on. There has been a lot of development on all our parts including these mounts.
Every single car that my company builds has a set of these mounts. These have been fitted and fully track tested for the last 5 years on all our builds. If you are considering carrying out an engine conversion on an e30 chassis using the engine model listed below, then you can certainly benefit from these custom made steel mounts. The engine mounts are made from steel and are fully seam welded so they won't brake like standard BMW aluminium mounts. The rubber mounts that we supply are solid rubber bobbin engine mounts with M10 threaded stubs. Sizes are 76mm OD 38mm thickness.This rubber mount is half the thickness of the rubber mount you have to use with the original aluminium E36 mounts. This is also a thinner mount than the original E30 rubber mount.
My steel mounts have been made to only work with the rubber mounts I supply. This helps cut movement of the engine massively and stops the exhaust hitting the steering. 2 Sits the engine in the perfect position.
3 Shorter rubber mounts stops movement. 4 You can keep and use your original gearbox mounts. 5 The mounts are solid. Unlike other solid mounts you won't get engine vibrations with these ones.
6 These won't brake even if you use them for rallying. Most people use the original BMW E36 aluminium engine mounts with the E28 or E34 5 series rubber mounts to fit the multi valve engines into the E30 chassis. This is ok for normal use but when you push the car hard, the tall 64.5mm E34/E28 engine mounts allow the engine to jump around.
If you are doing this engine conversion you will see there is hardly any space down on the exhaust manifold side for the steering column on RHD cars. If you use the E36 original engine mounts and E34/E28 rubber mounts your engine can move so far that it can cause the exhaust manifold to lock the steering. This can be very scary if this happens, which is why I designed my fully custom made mounts to stop engine movement. I also sell fully custom engine beds to keep the original rear loading oil pans of these engines.
